The Electronic Workbook
The Electronic Workbook is a project funded by
an equipment grant from NSF's Instrumentation and
Laboratory Improvement program. It is based on
Scientific WorkPlace, a word processor that
includes numerical and symbolic computation
capabilities, as well as graphing. It is currently
being used in two sections of Calculus II and one of
Calculus III.
Here is a page from a handout (electronic) for Calculus III.
The problem involves climbing a hill with a 5%
limit on the grade of your path.
Here is part of a homework assignment turned in by a student in
