Combining losing games into a winning game

Abstract:  In this talk, it is shown that one can combine losing games into a winning game. This is an illustration of the so-called Parrondo’s paradox in the physics literature. This paradox is extended to random combinations of simple random walks in random environments. The paradoxical behavior of the resulting random walk is explained by the effect of the random environment.

All are welcome!
