Kultur Festival March 1-8, 2014
An eight day celebration of Jewish culture: music, lectures, humor, films and book arts.
On Sunday, March 2nd at 3:00 p.m., Aaron Kula's 27-member Klexmer Company Orchestra (KCO) with guest vocalist Graham Fandrei will perform new engergetic arrangements of Klezmer melodies fused with Latin percussion, Argentinean Tango and Afro-Cuban dance beats along with classic songs from the Yiddish theater.
Kultur Festival is the only festival of its kind in South Florida. This annual celebration of Jewish culture includes eight days of concerts, film, author presentations, humor and book arts. The festival showcases Florida Atlantic University Libraries' Special Collections through the talents of guest artists, distinguished scholars and critically-acclaimed musicians, including the 27-piece Klezmer Company Orchestra (KCO), the library's professional ensemble-in-residence. Festival Director Aaron Kula and KCO perform an annual concert of music as the festival's main event.
The festival takes place on FAU's Boca Raton campus at two venues: the Wimberly Library and the Carole and Barry Kaye Performing Arts Auditorium.
Kultur Festival has been made possible in part by the generous support of the Jewish Cultural Society at FAU.
