Forty-Fourth Southeastern International Conference on
Combinatorics, Graph Theory, and Computing

March 4-8, 2013

Welcome Letter

Celebrating its 44th year, the Conference continues in the spirit of earlier conferences in Baton Rouge and Boca Raton. It brings together mathematicians and others interested in combinatorics, graph theory and computing, and their interactions. The Conference lectures and contributed papers, as well as the opportunities for informal conversations, have proved to be of great interest to other scientists and analysts employing these mathematical sciences in their professional work in business, industry, and government.

The Conference proceedings, which appear in the series, Congressus Numerantium, have been invaluable in the dissemination of important advances in the represented disciplines. The Conference continues to promote better understanding of the roles of modern applied mathematics, combinatorics, and computer science to acquaint the investigator in each of these areas with the various techniques and algorithms which are available to assist in his or her research. Each discipline has contributed greatly to the others, and the purpose of the Conference is to decrease even further the gaps between the fields.

For our 44th Conference, we shall have a program of exceptional invited speakers. Confirmed speakers include: Ron Gould, Emory University; Ivelisse Rubio, University of Puerto Rico; Bruce Sagan, Michigan State University; and Douglas West, Zhejian Normal University and University of Illinois. The organizing committee (Frederick Hoffman, Ronald C. Mullin, and Stephen Locke) cordially invites participation in our Conference by interested persons in the academic community as well as business, industry and government.

The 44th Conference is partially supported by the National Security Agency.
