Paperfolding Directions
The Paperfolding program generates images according to the iteration of specific folding patterns which include instructions for unfolding at specific angles.
Pattern:  Input the folding instruction by clicking on the + and - buttons (this pattern will appear in the white box below).  As the pattern is iterated, the sequence of left and right turns will be displayed in the second white box below.

Choose from three settings of iteration (single fwd., single bwd., or movie fwd.). Select the speed of generating the image by clicking on Slow, Med., or Fast.

Zoom:  Zoom in or out on the image by the selected percentage.

Centering:  Move the image by clicking on the desired direction.  C will automatically center the image.

Fixed Endpoints:Select fixed endpoints to see scaled Paperfolding.  Without it selected, the program emulates real Paperfolding.

Degree:  Choose the degree to which the paper should be unfolded.

Color Scheme:  The Color Scheme menu allows for experimentation with color in exploring questions of inflation and self similarity.  The Inflation setting shows previous stages while generating the current step.  The Blue / Yellow setting uses shades of the two colors in the generation of the image.  To use more than two colors use the Number of Colors bar.  The Periodic setting allows for a change in color after a specified number of segments.  The number of segments is determined by the Period Length bar.  Paper Thickness can also be controlled by using the appropriate bar.
